Talks between Roma and Bologna for Uzbek striker Eldor Shomurodov came to a halt a few weeks ago and never picked up again as the two clubs failed to meet halfway. The Rossoblu were particularly put off by Roma’s demands and insistence on including an obligation in the deal for the ex-Genoa man. Roma’s initial asking price of €12 million was never taken into consideration by Bologna, and the conditions for the obligation to be triggered were deemed too easily achievable. Therefore, Bologna have started to look for alternatives. The Ivorian international’s switch to the Ligue 1 side includes an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season. The Giallorossi were just one of the many clubs linked with a potential transfer move for the 28 year-old after it became clear he wouldn’t have space under new Red Devils manager Eric ten Hag. Bailly’s agent, Michaël N’Cho, offered the defender to Roma on multiple occasions following the appointment of Jose Mourinho in May 2021.
